Privacy Policy

FAR ROC is an international design competition organized by the FAR ROC Steering Committee, consisting of designated representatives from the competition’s Sponsoring Organizations (New York City Department of Housing, Preservation and Development, L+M Development Partners, The Bluestone Organization, Triangle Equities, Enterprise Community Partners, Inc., and the New York chapter of the AIA). Throughout this policy, the FAR ROC Steering Committee, Sponsoring Organizations, and their respective representatives may be referred to as “we”, “us”, and “our”.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. To enhance your experience on our website (the “Site”) and to gather some information about the kind of customers using our website, we occasionally ask for information about you. Below, you will find descriptions of the instances when the website requires and/or requests information from you, and how this will benefit you.

What do we collect?


Registration is not necessary to use the site; however, prospective entrants wishing to submit a competition entry will be required to register. To register, entrants must provide a contact name, affiliation, and contact email address. We will not disseminate entrants’ personal contact information for any purpose, beyond internal use for competition coordination and correspondence.


After registering for the competition, prospective entrants are given the opportunity to submit a design proposal to be considered for award by the competition Steering Committee and Jury. By electing to submit a design proposal for the competition, all Entrants give the FAR ROC design competition Steering Committee, Sponsoring Organizations and their respective representatives the absolute right and permission to use the Entrants’ names and affiliations for competition publicity purposes and to make reproductions in any media, including but not limited to the Internet and on the World Wide Web, in connection therewith. However, email addresses collected during registration WILL NOT be disseminated or published to any third party organization without prior written consent from the entrant.

Emails sent to the Steering Committee

Personally identifiable information received when entrants contact us, either through physical mail or via email at far-roc@enterprisecommunity.org, will be used strictly internally and will not be shared with any third party organization or posted on the website. We retain the right, however, to anonymously post questions received regarding the competition and their related answers on the competition website Q&A page so that they may be referenced by other prospective entrants.


We will not sell any information collected on our website. We do reserve the right to release information you have submitted when law requires such release.

Usage Data

We use a tool called Google Analytics™ to collect information about use of our Site. Google Analytics™ is described as “a web analytics tool that helps website owners understand how visitors engage with their website. Google Analytics customers can view a variety of reports about how visitors interact with their website so they can improve it. Google Analytics collects information anonymously. It reports website trends without identifying individual visitors.”

Google Analytics™ uses first-party cookies to track visitor interactions. Cookies are small files stored on the hard drive of your computer. This file only identifies your computer to our Site enabling our Site to recognize you when you return to the Site so that it can remember your preferences and personal settings. Browsers do not share first-party cookies across domains.

Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics™ about your visit to our website is restricted by the Google Analytics™ Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy respectively.
